There were 65 new cases and no new deaths from COVID-19 reported in the St. Cloud area on Saturday, according to data from the Minnesota Department of Health.
The state reported 882 new cases and three deaths from COVID-19. The deaths were people all in their 80s.
There were 15 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Benton County, 23 reported in Sherburne County and 27 in Stearns County.
The cumulative number of people who tested positive for the disease caused by the novel coronavirus reached 593,622 cases on Friday and 7,286 people have died, according to MDH.
The pandemic death toll stands at 406 in the tri-county St. Cloud area:
- 222 deaths and 22,266 cases in Stearns County,
- 97 deaths and 5,716 cases in Benton County
- 87 deaths and 11,730 cases in Sherburne County.
Since the start of the pandemic, 31,386 people have required hospitalization in the state and 6,391 have ended up in intensive care.
Globally, there are more than 162 million cases of COVID-19, including almost 32.9 million in the U.S., according to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Research Center. More than 3.3 million people have died of the infection worldwide, including nearly 585,300 people in the U.S.
